MR. AYAZ THAVER

Ayaz Thaver obtained his Master’s Degree in Engineering (Dipl.-Ing.) from Germany. He entered the textile manufacturing industry in 1976, gaining expertise across various sectors including weaving, knitting, dyeing, and printing. In 1985, he founded a buying house in Karachi, partnering with the German store and mail-order company “Quelle” from Fürth, Bavaria. This collaboration equipped him with extensive knowledge of running a sourcing and quality control agency in Pakistan. Over time, the business expanded internationally, with clients in France, the UK, Germany, Japan, the USA, and Switzerland, serving primarily retailers and some wholesalers. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of the German-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (2024–2026), continuing to strengthen trade relations between Pakistan and Germany.

Leadership Positions Held:

• Chairman of JIBA International, a businessmen’s group with branches in Canada, the UK, East Africa, and India.
• Former Chairman of the Industrial Expert Group for Textiles and Leather at the German-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Karachi.
• Leader of a Pakistani business delegation to the “Symposium Procurement and Logistics” events in Berlin in 2015 and 2018.
• Led a delegation of Pakistani textile and leather businessmen to an event at the Düsseldorf Chamber of Commerce in Germany in 2017.

For 40 years (1977–2017), GIA International Exports maintained a booth at the prestigious Heimtextil Fair in Frankfurt, Germany.
