MR. HAMZA BIN TARIQ

A business executive with over 21 years of experience offering an array of skills in business management, leadership, performance, marketing with proven track record of driving strategic growth and operational excellence in an engineering company.

With initial schooling from Aitchison College Lahore then Bachelors in Economics and Finance from Lahore School of Economics and later Masters in Small Business Management from Cardiff Business School United Kingdom, joined the family business in 2003.

Started my career in family business from Business and Engineering Trends as Senior Executive primarily looking after the Marine business operations of the company. Having strengths in management, strategy, planning, sales and marketing was promoted within the company.

In 2003, on a Japanese Government Scholarship Programme have also worked at Yamaha Motor Company Japan till August 2004. After a rigorous 1-year training, the new business development concepts and several innovative techniques were introduced after which today the company ranks as the leading and the number 1 marine products company in Pakistan. Due to the services rendered for the marine sector development I am also the recipient of Gold Medal for Achievement in Marine Sector from the President of Pakistan as well as Winner of Best Brand of the Year Award for last 5 consecutive years.

After successfully leading the company with strong strategic leadership skills, team management and change management was promoted as the Chief Operating Officer of the Bin Tariq Group, a group having two family oriented companies enterprising in marine sector and fiberglass products and services for industrial sector respectively. Over the last 6 years have led the company towards exponential growth in industrial and marine sector including business development and successfully executing mega power projects for company under the Pakistan and China G2G CPEC Programme.

I have also served as the Hon. Advisor to Government of Sindh – Ministry of Fisheries. I have served as the Director on the Board of the Pakistan Japan Business Forum and have been the Director of Pakistan Korea Business and Friendship Forum as well as Vice Chairman of the Pakistan German Business Forum.

Besides work my hobbies are Swimming and Reading. I have been a national and international level Swimmer in my school and college days and hold the national blazer and various Best Swimmer Awards. I have also been a debater and occasionally impart motivational public talks. I have travelled globally and am conversant in English, Urdu, Seriki and Japanese.
