An Extraordinary General Meeting was held to consider and approve the proposed change in the name of the German Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GPCCI) to German Pakistan Council of Commerce & Industry (GPCCI). The meeting was attended by representatives from member companies and officials from the German Consulate in Karachi.

The meeting commenced with opening remarks by Mr. Imran Shamim, Secretary General of GPCCI, who welcomed all attendees and introduced the agenda.

Mr. Nadeem Kazmi, President of GPCCI, explained the rationale behind the organization’s name change, noting that GPCCI currently does not meet the structural requirements of a formal chamber, which typically includes a minimum of 300 member companies. He also shared that Consul General Dr. Ruediger Lotz had recommended the name change and announced that GPCCI will collaborate closely with AHK (German Chambers Abroad) moving forward. Mr. Andreas Wegner reaffirmed that GPCCI and AHK will work in partnership in the future.
